Do you love to sing and enjoy singing with others? Then come and join harmony wizards Sue Thompson and Don Share for this fast-paced, high-energy class. Sue and Don are a well-known teaching team in the US and Canada, and are appreciated for their fun, clear and practical teaching methods and great sense of humor.
If you’ve come to one of Sue’s workshops in the past, you’ll be glad to know that she and Don are bringing loads of new licks, tricks and techniques to help you figure out your harmony parts faster and more intuitively than ever before. Our goal is to help you switch on your “Harmony Auto-Pilot” and and start singing great bluegrass harmony on-the-fly, even the first time you hear a song.
If you’re new to harmony singing, you’ll get the skills you need to start harmonizing confidently. If you’re an experienced harmony singer, you’ll boost your speed at part-finding, even on parts below the melody and on songs with tricky melodies or chords. You’ll also learn techniques for hitting high notes without strain, staying on your part, and blending better with all kinds of voices.
There will be lots of singing in small groups with coaching from Sue and Don, so come alone or bring your singing buddies or your band! To get the most out of this workshop, you should already be able to sing a melody reasonably well in tune. If you’re comfortable playing guitar or banjo, please bring your instrument with you, as it will be helpful in our small group practice sessions.
